A rescue helicopter was able to retrieve at least one survivor, while another individual was recovered deceased from the water. Initially, two men and a woman were confirmed dead, with the ages reported as 35 for one man and 55 for the woman. Subsequently, a second woman was rescued and given medical attention but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. As of now, there is no confirmation regarding whether any German tourists were among the victims.
Rescue teams continued searching for the missing person into the late evening hours, but efforts were in vain. The operation involved multiple agencies including maritime rescue, local police, fire departments, and medical responders.
Warnings of high waves had previously been issued by local authorities, which were reported by the media. Some individuals reportedly managed to escape the water on their own, emphasizing the danger these natural pools present under such conditions. These seaside spots are known as hidden gems among tourists, yet they can quickly turn hazardous during rough sea conditions, with towering waves pulling unsuspecting people into perilous currents. Just recently, on November 8, Tenerife experienced a similar catastrophic event where multiple individuals were swept away, resulting in three deaths and numerous injuries.
