On Aug. 7, 2026, RFK Jr. shared childhood photos of Saoirse Kennedy Hill and wrote that she had died seven years earlier from an accidental fentanyl overdose, according to media coverage. The post was deleted soon after it appeared; no reason for the removal has been provided.

What happened in 2019

Saoirse was found unresponsive at the Kennedy compound on Aug. 1, 2019 and was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She was 22 years old.
